How to mute someone in DMs on Instagram

1. Tap the arrow in the top right corner to go to your DMs

2. Tap the chat of the person you want to mute

3. Tap their name at the top of the chat page

4. Tap the switches at the top and make sure they're blue to mute the person's messages and/or call notifications

5. To unmute, uncheck the switches and make sure they're back to gray

How to mute someone from your feed on Instagram

1. Tap the dotted icon in the top right corner of the person's post you want to mute

2. Tap "Hide"

3. Tap "Mute [account name]"

4. Tap either "Mute posts" or "Mute posts and story"

5. To unmute, go to the person's profile and follow the steps below

How to mute someone's on their Instagram profile

1. Go to the person's profile you want to mute

2. Tap "Following" under their name and bio

3. Tap "Mute"

4. Tap the switches and make sure they're blue to mute the person's posts and/or stories

5. To unmute, uncheck the switches and make sure they're back to gray

Mute someone's story from your feed

1. Tap and hold the Instagram story you want to mute at the top of your feed
