President Donald Trump put his foot in his mouth, spooking the nation, again.
Trump was joined at the White House by military leaders for a dinner on Thursday evening when he suggested the current moment was the "calm before the storm."

"You guys know what this represents? Maybe it's the calm before the storm," Trump said as he motioned to the military leaders around the room, who were also joined by their spouses.
Considering the most powerful leader in the world, surrounded by the most powerful leaders of the armed forces, referred to a photo op as the "calm before the storm," people were rightfully concerned with Trump's elusive comments. Remember, this is the man who tends to treat the United States government like a reality TV show.
When pressed for additional information, Trump smiled and said: "We have the world's great military people in this room, I will tell you that."
Again, he was pushed for clarity on his remarks of the upcoming storm to which Trump simply replied, "You'll find out," before ending the photo op.
While Trump's statements could easily be another case of Trump's trolling or saying something ridiculous to make a good press moment, his words were (clearly) not chosen very well, especially when surrounded by the "the world's great military people."
Here's to hoping Trump has no idea what the phrase "calm before the storm" means.
