Like many of you, I've spent the last 30 or so months glued to Twitter in a white hot rage. Even days when the Trump administration isn't allegedly torturing families, I find something, someone to be mad about: perhaps a particularly bad Mark Duplass take or just Stephen Miller, existing.
I'm desperate to find good humans on Twitter. The kindness reserves feel depleted. Everywhere I look, there are monsters. Last week I got so down I Google image searched "Jimmy Carter shaking hands on a plane" in a desperate attempt at finding something decent.
But altruism isn't dead. There are still good humans out there -- or, at minimum, really well crafted bot accounts -- who exhibit real human kindness. You just need to know where to find them. That's true especially for Twitter, which features an exceptionally high density of deeply angry people.

Karamo is the Culture Expert on Queer Eye and an absolute mensch in real life. Bonus: he's a trained social worker and psychotherapist with over 12 years of experience. He won't provide counseling services to you on Twitter but he definitely offers daily nuggets of advice to help you get through the day. Most aren't even *that* corny so you should be safe to retweet him without losing any followers.

To find kindness, sometimes you've just got to go to the youth. Gideon, the 9-year-old behind @IvePetThatDog exemplifies the best of America, simply by being a kind boy who pets dogs on the reg and believes that all doggos are good.

Technically, this Twitter account (@MrRogersMovie) shares info about the Mr. Rogers' documentary, not Mr. Rogers himself. Most of it is just weeping and well-deserved praise for the movie. Still, it's the closest we'll ever get to the man, a modern day saint if there ever was one.

The powerhouse nun behind Dead Man Walking and one of the country's top anti-death penalty advocates also helps strangers on Twitter. Sister Helen recently started a daily blog where she offers words of healing wisdom and frankly, it helps.

Fiction writer, New York Timesop-ed writer, and former GLAAD Board of Directors member Jennifer Finney Boylan is consistently a warm presence on Twitter. If you're looking for opinion columns that are politically pointed, but not weighed down with despair, Boylan's columns are the best/only place to go.
Also, she signs off Twitter every night by saying: "Goodnight. I love you," along with a cheesy GIF.
We need a little cheesiness in our life right now, so please, take your snark somewhere else.

Plenty of haters complain that Miranda is corny, but you know what? The man raised $2.5 million for Puerto Rico after their devastating Hurricane Katrina last year. Beat that. His sweet little inspirational morning tweets help some of us adults get through tough days, when we don't have any Mueller indictments to get us through.

Lin-Manuel Miranda recently partnered up with Twitter favorite and illustrator Jonny Sun to make a book of Miranda's daily goodnight and good morning tweets. The internet couldn't be more thrilled. Sun is a consistently warm and clever presence on Twitter. Just take a look at his recent thread on happiness:

Award-winning chef José Andrés played a critical part in disaster relief efforts in Puerto Rico when FEMA was nowhere to be found. Andrés served fresh food to over 2.2 million people on the island, at a time when many were struggling with extreme hunger. Now, you can find him tweeting about similarly heroic work he and his nonprofit, World Central Kitchen, performs.

Activist and lawyer for the Center for Popular Democracy Ady Barkan has been at forefront of the progressive movement in America, particularly in the healthcare fight. Barkan is currently "dying of ALS" but is using his story to help fight for better healthcare for all Americans, not just himself.
"I have ALS. I am dying,” Barkan said in December. “But when we come together our voices echo so loud through the halls of Congress, out to the Supreme Court, up Pennsylvania Avenue, all the way to Wall Street.”
You don't have to like astrology at all to like Chani Nicholas and Jessica Lanyadoo, both queer-affirming feminist astrologers on Twitter. Trust me, Nicholas and Lanyadoo dispense the kind of wisdom I used to pay my therapist boatloads of money to provide. They're a positive presence in the darkest of timelines, and they're not afraid to share a little hope.

Nicole Gallucci is my coworker and is ten times as nice as me/anyone on this platform. Think your coworker is nice? Nicole tells me I'm wonderful at least three times a week. Not even my mother does that. Bless Nicole.

Remember James Shaw Jr., the Waffle House hero who saved multiple people's lives but refused to be called a hero? He's still on Twitter, fighting the good fight and working with the Parkland kids to advocate for gun control. His uplifting tweets are inspirational, even though I'm a little ashamed to be looking at someone 15 years my junior for advice.
I was hesitant to put any dog on this list, because all dogs are good. Some dogs, however, are exceptionally kind. The dog behind @dog_feeling is just one of those dogs. His tweets are so loving and generous. I would do anything to turn this pup into human form.

Every time Michelle tweets, it makes the news. Like recently, when she announced that she'd be launching a voting initiative with fellow kind humans Lin-Manuel Miranda, Tom Hanks, Common, and Janelle Monae.
We're all feeding off political nostalgia right now, and you know what? It satisfies.

Don't judge dinosaurs based on Jurassic Park. They're a product of their prehistoric environment, and a lot of them are actually really sweet once you get to know them. Take Sue the T-Rex, who just oozes that reptilian warmth our culture is so sorely lacking:
